Christ's Hands in Action

Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A COST?
Yes. The cost for the weekend is $190.00 per participant, $30 of which is an application fee.  The cost includes three nights' lodging, meals, and all materials necessary for the weekend.  Financial assistance may be available and should be requested when the candidate's application is submitted.

WHERE ARE ACTIVITIES LOCATED?
Alamo City Tres Dias weekends are held at Twin Oaks Ranch in Buda, TX. Transportation to/from your weekend is encouraged to be provided by your sponsor.

WHO MAY TAKE PART?
Anyone at least 21 years old, who is seeking a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
If you are under 21 years old and wish to attend a weekend, Camino de Cristo is a three-day weekend for those ages 15-20. Currently, the Central Texas (Austin) community holds these weekends, and additional information can be found at https://ctxcc.org/

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE WEEKEND?
Layers and clergy speakers give a series of talks covering a "short course in Christianity.” Candidates worship and study in the presence of the Holy Spirit to glorify God.  Group discussions, sharing, jokes, laughter, singing, communion (if you wish to partake), and prayer time in both group and individual settings.  Every weekend includes Spiritual Directors who are available for counseling and prayer as needed.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF PARTICIPANTS?
Our prayer is that you will bring a willingness to experience a weekend led by the Holy Spirit.  We hope you will consciously reflect on your spiritual walk with Christ throughout the weekend.  We want you to feel secure in the knowledge that you are accepted where you are and as you are and to know that a specific response is not expected of you. We hope you are curious and thirsty enough for spiritual exploration and nourishment to acknowledge a need to commit a weekend of your life to Christ.  We want you to "Participate, not anticipate."

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WEEKEND?
After the three-day experience, Tres Dias encourages people to share their witness, glorify God, serve through their church, and come up alongside each other in living out the Christian life in their own environment. In addition, we encourage people to join in reunion groups and Secuelas for continued accountability and nourishment in their Christian walk.

HOW DO I APPLY?
Every participant must have a sponsor who has attended a Tres Dias or similar weekend (i.e., Walk to Emmaus or Cursillo).  Your sponsor provides support before and after your weekend.  If you feel it is God's will for you to attend, your sponsor will take the lead for your registration.  Each weekend serves approximately 36 "candidates" or participants.

IS TRES DIAS A DENOMINATION?
No.  Tres Dias is not a substitute for active, contributing membership in your church.  It is our prayer that God use Tres Dias as one of His many tools to help awaken the need for Christ in your life and/or strengthen the walk you already have with Him.  We encourage candidates to be obedient in returning to their environments, including their home church, to spread the gospel of Christ.
